As the temperatures warm and we prepare for another great Summer at the park, we wanted to take a look back at one of the best nights last year….
The full harvest moon was a perfect backdrop on September 9, 2022 for The Friends of Sherwood Island (FOSI) Annual Shorefest Fundraiser. Guests nibbled on delicious appetizers while checking out the many choices in our Silent Auction. Local legislators tended bar and mingled, while live jazz music was performed by the talented Karl Schultz. The sumptuous dinner included mussels, clams, salad, corn on the cob, choice of lobster, salmon, steak, or vegetarian, along with fruit and dessert including custom-themed cookies provided by Old Mill Market & Cafe. All dinners were prepared on-site by Westfair Fish & Chips.
After dinner, the silent auction kicked into full gear, with prizes ranging from restaurant gift cards, gourmet baskets, original artwork from local artists, experiences, and more. Children of all ages explored the Fishy Wishy section, where they could donate food for the animals and fulfill other Nature Center “wishes”.
Shorefest is the annual fundraiser hosted by FOSI, which gives guests the unique experience of enjoying a dinner party at Sherwood Island State Park after dark, while contributing to FOSI’s many programs and services, all benefiting the park and its community.
