“Sex in the Sea” Author Marah Hardt at the Nature Center
Sunday, September 29
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
On September 29th, Friends of Sherwood Island will host local author, marine scientist & Harvard alumna Marah Hardt as our special guest. Her talk will combine the “timeless topic of sex with the timely issue of sustainable oceans.” Her book, “Sex in the Sea: Our Intimate Connection with Sex-changing Fish, Romantic Lobsters, Kinky Squid and other Salty Erotica of the Deep” was an Oprah book pick and Amazon Best Book of 2016. It focuses on the “funny, racy and raunchy nature of reproduction beneath the waves.” We’ll learn how ocean pollution, overfishing and climate change are causing critical disruptions of “the creative procreation that drives the wild abundance of sea life” and how we need to change ocean management to benefit all the creatures on Earth.
The talk will be at 4 pm in the Nature Center at Sherwood Island SP. We’re hoping to see a full house for this exciting event.
“See you there,” sez Marah!
